Fuel your Life. Find your balance

CONCUSSION MANAGEMENT

At Catalyst Kinetics, our team is passionate about navigating your next steps after a concussion. Whether you sustained your concussion recently, or are experiencing persistent post-concussion symptoms, we have the knowledge to help guide your recovery. Our inter-disciplinary team works together to address and treat all elements of your concussion and persisting symptoms to get you back to your life.

What is included in Concussion Treatment?

Our thorough assessment includes analysis of each of the 7 concussion ‘subtypes’: vestibular, oculomotor, cervical, autonomic, cognitive, headache and mood. Based on this assessment, our team creates a tailored treatment plan including all of the necessary practitioners to support your journey. Your main practitioner will guide you through your treatment, and suggest any referrals that will benefit your recovery. Common treatments include manual therapy for cervical issues, vision therapy for eye movement dysfunction, vestibular retraining for dizziness management, and strength, balance and coordination training for a successful return to activity.

OUR SERVICE

What is a Baseline Concussion Test?

Baseline Concussion Tests are completed before concussion signs and symptoms are present. Baseline Tests are beneficial for athletes or those who lead active lifestyles. The test provides a measure of your baseline, or starting point. The assessment includes cognitive, visual, balance and coordination measures. If a concussion is sustained, the baseline is used to measure your progress. This allows your practitioners to gain concrete evidence of recovery and create a tailored treatment plan that meets your needs.

Concussion Mini-Intensives (SURREY ONLY)

Specific team members are now offering Mini-Intensives, an alternative to weekly treatment. Sessions are condensed into one full week of Monday to Friday appointments with your practitioner.

This allows you to take a concentrated, focused approach to rehabilitation, while returning to your life outside of the clinic with fewer interruptions.

After completing an assessment, your practitioner will suggest whether a Mini-Intensive style of treatment may be a good fit for you. If you are already participating in standard treatment and think a Mini-Intensive may better support your recovery than traditional weekly appointments, feel free to ask your practitioner.
