1. What is the difference between a chiropractor and a physiotherapist?
Chiropractors focus mainly on the spine and joints, using adjustments and manual therapy, while physiotherapists focus on movement and function through exercise and rehabilitation. At our Surrey clinic the two often work together as part of an integrated care team.
2. Does chiropractic care hurt?
Your chiropractor will explain each technique before treatment and check your comfort as they go. Some mild soreness for a day or two afterward is common.
3. What happens at my first chiropractic visit in Surrey?
Your first visit is a 45 minute new patient appointment. Your chiropractor reviews your health history and current complaint, completes a physical and neurological examination, and explains a treatment plan. If more information is needed, they may refer you for imaging such as X-rays.
4. How long is a chiropractic appointment?
A new patient appointment is 45 minutes. Follow-up visits are 15 minutes, with 30 minute extended visits available when you need more time, and new patient assessments for children are 30 minutes.
5. Does ICBC cover chiropractic care in Surrey?
Yes. If your motor vehicle accident was within 12 weeks of your first appointment, we can direct bill ICBC for eligible chiropractic care once you complete the Motor Vehicle Accident form online, sign the third party billing agreement and add a credit card to your account. If your accident was more than 12 weeks ago, email your written ICBC approval to MVA@catalystkinetics.com before booking.
6. Can you direct bill WorkSafeBC for chiropractic in Surrey?
Yes, WorkSafeBC direct billing is available for chiropractic clients with a valid or pending claim number, your Personal Health Number, a work injury within 60 days of your first appointment, and a credit card on your account. We cannot direct bill a claim you have already used with a chiropractor at another clinic. Our Billing Options page has the full details.
